The first thing I do is not look for trades. I look for participation. If relative volume is not unusual, the name is not on my list no matter how good the chart looks. Once I have the shortlist, I write the premarket high, the premarket low, and the level that tells me I was wrong. If I cannot write that last number, I do not take the trade.
